    Netflix now on SKY Q boxes

    Hi folks

    SKY Q customers can get NETFLIX now 100% LEGALLY on SKY Q boxes including miniboxes -- this saves having to mess about with laptops / tablets / casting from phones / using roku and amazon fire TV boxes. I'm all in favour of minimizing boxes and dongles attached to TV sets.

    No extra cost if you already have a NETFLIX subscription --just login as usual --same interface etc. A lot more convenient (I have 3 SKY Q miniboxes and a mail SKY Q box). I find also much better response than from smart TV with NETFLIX app built in - usually slow and cumbersome, and no LAN connections. (Also SKY Q boxes can be recordable too).

    A bit fiddly to set up on the mini boxes -- just google for it but worth it.

    TalkTalk Youview boxes (ethernet/wifi/tuner) also have Netflix access, along with a number of other players from iplayer to UK TV play to Now TV and TalkTalk TV. (Not a subscriber, just noted the logo as one of the options).

    H there
    @dalchina

    advantage of the SKY Q box is that it's not tied to any ISP. I have an ROI box (Republic of Ireland -- avoids those irksome UK Sat 15.00 Football (round ball) Geo blocks and I use it back here in Iceland without any problems.

    The Sky Q box could well be better in various ways- I don't know as I've not seen one.

    I bought 2 Youview boxes second hand (around £30 each I think) - one for each of 2 TVs. I have no contract for TalkTalk TV, and would only need that to use TT TV.

    All the other functions- recording, live viewing, record 2 channels whilst watching a 3rd, the various TV players including all the UK ones are available.

    'Only' 250Gb, but you can get a huge amount of stuff on that.

    I also had to work out how to replace a drive on one- not straightforward in terms of the preparation of the drive.
