I skimmed a bit too much, I see. I was hoping to help someone from the frustration I've had. Win10 is great -except when it isn't. In the case of my onboard Realtek NIC and audio... well, a definite case of it not being great.
At first they both -kinda- worked, just not well together. If I was utilizing the nic, the audio crackled. I eventually stumbled into the audio enhancements.. when I disabled them all seemed well. The network i/o was well below what it should be, but a better trade off for crackling audio.
Then came the Realtek Win10 NIC driver. Fixed the network i/o but the crackling was worse than ever. I found no way to resolve this. Back in the XP days I would have immediately suspected an IRQ conflict, but nowadays we can't even check that.
I rolled back my NIC driver, and am living with it for now.
