Well, that applies equally before doing the in-place repair... just in case. So at least you can get back to where you are...

That said, it's pretty safe.. but it means all Windows files are replaced. Imagine you lose power part way through...

I am checking this solution but it says that all the apps will be deleted which means all the programs no?
This solution seems to required to have an ISO image of Windows 10 which I haven't / I don't have the WIndows 10 CD since it came pre-installed?

I say again for the final time you will not lose programs or apps. I suggest you are reading the wrong thing.

Make sure you log in normally, THEN run setup.exe.

    I.e. follow the tutorial.

ISO's are freely downloadable - of any version and build.

    Read the tutorial:
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade | Tutorials
    • If you have a 32-bit Windows 10, then you must use a 32-bit ISO or USB.
    • If you have a 64-bit Windows 10, then you must use a 64-bit ISO or USB.
    Click the link...

To start the repair, mount the iso (rt click it, click Mount), then open the new drive letter, double click setup.exe.
