WLAN PCI card "cannot find enough free resources that it can use"

I have been having problems with a WLAN PCI card which refuseth to work. Here are all the details on the Microsoft Community post.

I would be chuffed if the people of TenForums could help me. As I said in the MS Community topic, I have found another with a similar problem but I am not in a position to reinstall Windows right now.

Need any more details, don't hesitate to ask!

I suggest that you post a correct one, or at least the make/model of the card.

I'm probably not the person who'll help you, even then. I haven't wrestled with IRQs and the like for about 20 years.

what kind of WLAN PCI card you are trying to use on your PC?

Usual treatment for similar cases: First try updating your chipset drivers, the card might not get correct configuration (resources) because the motherboard device it depends on has inappropriate drivers. Then go to manufacturer's website (Realtek or whatever it is) and download the latest available driver for Windows 10. If there isn't one, then try for Windows 8 or 7. In worst case use Vista drivers.

sometimes removing the WLAN PCI card and putting it into a different PCI/PCIe expansion slot may get it to work

Assuming there is one spare...

I might try taking out the PCI card and putting it back in again physically.

It might work, but if it is a driver issue you will have to solve it.
