Printer Error w/ Any Printer but Only from Microsoft Windows 10 Apps

    Windows 10 x64, Think Pad
If I try to print to ANY printer (e.g., HP Printer, Microsoft Print to PDF) from any delivered Windows 10 application (like Edge, OneNote Web), I get the error

"Your printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem 0x8007007e"

If try to print to the same printers from any other application (e.g., Chrome) it works fine.

I tried using dism and sfc to repair but it says the system is fine.

    Hi PencilBoy99

First I would try the inplace repair. I assume you are on 1803 so following this will result in a repair (as of the date the MCT tool is providing V1803). If you are on 1709 it will upgrade you unless you have boot media with 1709 on it to use.

    Please backup your data.

This is supposed to be a non destructive process, that is it leaves your apps and data.

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

    Alternatively you could try

Reinstall and Re-register Apps in Windows 10

    you also mentioned Edge

Reinstall and Re-register Microsoft Edge in Windows 10

I would be inclined to do the inplace repair.

Sounds cool - i'll try the repair one.

I'm not sure reinstalling the windows 10 apps would help, since it seems ALL windows 10 apps can print. I just tried those 2.

    Oh, I misread your statement.

If I try to print to ANY printer (e.g., HP Printer, Microsoft Print to PDF) from any delivered Windows 10 application

So it is just Edge and OneNote?

Sorry, you were right with your original comment - it's ANY windows 10 program, not just those 2. I tried reinstalling them from powershell but it didn't fix it. I'll try the in place repair.
