    Samsung SyncMaster T260 driver not working in Windows 10


    I don't know what else to say other than what's in the title, really. I had everything working perfectly since Wednesday afternoon, then this evening I rebooted and 'poof' - there went my lovely 1920x1200 resolution, chucked down to 1024x768 with my PC no longer recognising the SyncMaster T260 and instead giving me the 'generic monitor' cow poop. Try as I might, I can't get Samsung's drivers (which are from 2008 (!) and say they're compatible up to Vista!) to work at all, they just keep telling me there's been an error and it hasn't worked.

    I'm desperately unhappy that everything on my screen looks ugly as sin and I can't change the resolution. Can anyone help?

    While it'd be nice to have the Samsung "drivers" installed (they're not really drivers, they just identify the monitor), I'm pretty sure that it's not required to set the display at its native resolution. I think I got that with my Samsung monitor (U28D590D) before I installed the Samsung ones.

    I downloaded the package. It can be opened with 7Zip (open source software). You could extract the files and us e the "update drivers" feature in Device Manager to install them, I'd bet. I doubt that there's anything 10-ish about the files.

    I'd expect that your graphics drivers are likelier to be the cause.

    I had just come to that realisation about five minutes before you posted - great minds think alike? I think I may be a victim of this Nvidia-Windows 10 problem that's going on.

Since I recently did a fresh install of Win10 TP 64-bit, I also had to reinstall all the apps and drivers I previously had in place from the earlier "upgrade" I did. And, part of that was adding Samsung Kies to be able to connect my Samsung Galaxy...
I've installed the driver but the 10 keypad will not work! the Num-lock key beeps when pressed but keypresses from numeric keypad do not show on screen. Your thoughts?? Thanks KLund1
I tried to download some Pictures from my Samsung Galaxy S2 android Phone to my new install of win10, and now I can't find them anywhere. I HAD win 7 before, & every time I downloaded Pictures, a little icon of a "drive" would flash in my bottom...
