Is Firewire IEEE 1394 still supported by Windows 10 ?

Which parameter should I look for ?
I have the graphic card installed on 2 PCI slots and it works fine

I don't know if this is a bios bug or a chip set bug but if u put your pcie firewire card from a cpu pcie lane it will play.
This is the second big pcie slot.

The motherboard there is ryzen but i found similar problem with intel latest asus motherboards.
Basically try another pcie slot that is not shared

clntlgm: the obsolete tech has nothing to do that a pcie card don't recognized in the bios. Or the slot is broken, or it is dirty ,or he must go into bios to reset to default especially if it is uefi bios with ultra fast enabled or he must change pcie slot.

I was assuming he had a Thunderbolt MB connection most Asus Motherboards have had since Z97's, if so why bother to fight for drivers instead of just adapt/Convert to TB Problem solved?

If the model of firewire has the amsedia1083 pcie to pci bridge it dont work reliably with ryzen.

Sorry I commented with logic only, I have no experience with Firewire I tried it way back when it first came out and found it was a hassle even back then and there were few devices that used the technology with out issues.

My old Sony DCR-TRV460 camcorder worked when connecting a Firewire (ieee 1394) cable onto my old HP Pavilion media center M8417C computer, which has a 6-pin 1394 port (probably 1394A) at the front and at the back of the computer and Win10 has built-in Firewire drivers for them.

btw, the IEEE 1394 chipset used on the HP computer is "LSI 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller" listed in Device Manager

be sure to buy the proper IEEE 1394 cable and the PCI/PCIe 1394 expansion card for PCs/boards that don't have a 1394 connector & ports.
