What version of Options+ do you have? It should be version 1.40.402749.

I don't know what to say. I have three computers with Logitech M510 mice. The Logi Bolt app and the Options+ app all see these mice OK.

BTW, I have one computer that didn't even have any Logitech software on it. Apparently, it was only using the built-in unifying driver in Windows 10. If the any device such as a M510 is already paired there is no need to pair them again with Bolt or Options+. If you run Bolt or Options+ they should already be shown as paired.

For example, on the computer I just installed Bolt and Options+ I see the M510 already paired.

I will give this another go.

Did you have a specific order that you installed the Logitech stuff in? Like Bolt first followed by Options+ etc?

And what do you see in your HID, Keyboard and Mouse nodes in Device Manager? Do you see actual Logitech "branded" entries like "Logicool Unifying USB Receiver" or just entries that say "USB Input Device"?

If you do have any "branded" entries - would love to know what driver version numbers are installed. Mine is v 6.0.45.0 dated 10/14/2020.

Update when you have a sec. I will install Bolt now and see what happens.

Ok - here is what I get - installing Bolt first:

    Then this

    and then:

    Which finally times out:

And I am left with this - one device good - one not.

    Latest Logitech Options Software-2023-05-17_13-16-54.png

And then I can try again - notice how Bolt is recognizing the devices on the Logi Unified USB:

But no amount of messing around will get the mouse to behave.

I think I am going to try something different here and repair the M510 AND MX Keys to my older Unify USB and see what happens there. I am finding it very odd that this "new" key seems to love the MX Keys pairing but seemingly is acting real weird with the much older M510 Mouse.

Back in 2015 Logitech rebranded itself and now refers to itself as Logi.

For newer devices they are transitioning from the Options to the Options+ app. Since all my wireless mice are now supported by Options+ I have uninstalled all copies of Options and replaced them with Options+.

I see that from your screenshots that both the MX Keys keyboard and the M510 mouse are paired in Bolt. I don't see what your problem is now. Note if you ever want to repair a device you first need to unpair it. You do that by clicking on the X to the right of the device.

BTW, I had a mouse not working but it showed up as being paired. Once I unpaired it and paired it again it started working again.

Have you run Options+ to see if you can at least configure the buttons on the M510 mouse. If Options+ works with the MX Keys keyboard then there may be configuration options for it also.

Like I said if you can pair all your devices with Options+ then that is all you need. You then don't need Bolt. You can still install Bolt if you want to.

    thanks for the explanation
the original options gave you full control of the mouse, whereas the new options just adds a device and tells me my battery strength. or have i got that wrong

The problem is that devices look great in the Unifying Software. All paired up and working perfectly in Windows.

But in Logi Bolt - only the MX Keys is showing as "connected" (recognized) as being on the Logi Unifying Receiver and the M510 shows as Inactive:

    Good to know :)

However - I just unpaired the M510 off the Logi Unifier (via Bolt) but could not re-pair it via Bolt. I could only re-pair it back to the "new" Logi key - using the "old" Logitech Unifying Software (v2.5.2)

When I run Options+ (after all of the above) - only MX Keys appears as a valid device that Options+ knows about. If I click Add Device in Options+ - (even with the M510 working perfectly onscreen) - it still cannot detect the M510 as being active, installed or even exists on the computer in any way.

What is now clear to me is that perhaps this specific M510 (due to its age, hardware/firmware specifics or some other obscure reason) simply does not register with the modern Logitech software apps like Bolt or Options+.

I would also speculate strongly that while the "M510" is now listed (on Logitech's site) as being a "supported" device in Options + (as of August 2022) - I believe what they really mean is that a "modern" M510 whose hardware specs and firmware age allow it to be recognized by Options+ is what is "supported" - not every single M510 made between say 2008 and today.

I mean - my two M510s are 12+ years old so it would not surprise me if something deeper (hardware-wise) is at the root of this issue.

The downloads for the M510 mouse show a Firmware Update Tool. Have you tried that?

just to confirm from Logitech in that they Logitech and I are unable to install the software options installer on Windows 10 only

logi options plus installer no problem on Windows 10 and 11

so i woulden't waste your time on the above in trying to install options installer on Windows 10
