Please restart device. Then open device manager. You should see a Biometric device, do you?

If you right click device, then properties could you screen shot the "General" tab.

You still have an Other devices with a question mark.

Could you please follow the instructions I posted in Post #7 and post the value in this thread. Let's get this device resolved.

You still don't have a Biometric heading so no fingerprint reader is being seen by windows.

    From Post 7

Right click Start, click Device Manager, right click device you are having issue with, click “Properties”, click on “Details” tab, in “Property” box use the drop down to select “Hardware IDs”, copy and paste first line in “Value” box to Google and your next post. Google can usually tell you what device driver you are looking for.

    This time post the value.

    Thanks.

This is a known issue according to Lenovo that will be corrected in V1803. ( CDP Proximal Transport )

    https://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/solutions/ht505853

It says this can be ignored.

Now that is out of the way.

So your device is not listed in device manager so windows doesn't see it. Next place to look is BIOS. It very well is a feature that you can either enable or disable. Please enter BIOS and look.

If you could redo first screen, predesktop authentication, so we can see words to the right. On the second panel, Reader Priority, I would set to Internal only if such a setting exists.

For what ever reason, it would appear from the screen shots that the fingerprint reader should be enabled. What is different is there is a setting to reset fingerprint data. This would imply device is storing and not windows Hello.

Comes back to the first line -Predesktop Authentication. This almost sounds like a power on password that my Thinkpad had, wouldn't boot anything or allow you to enter BIOS with this password. Would be important to see words to the right as requested above. As an experiment I would set this line to off. In other words pass the authentication activity to the desktop (Windows)

So you want me to disable Predesktop Authentication ?
