    B & O Play for HP

My HP desktop came with Bang & Olufsen premium sound. That functionality seems to have been lost after the upgrade to the October 2018 or the previous update. Is there a software update from B & O to download? I loved that premium sound, and my computer just doesn't have it anymore. Sure, it has the standard Realtek sound.

If it came from HP, you could probably download it from there. As for compatibility, that may be another matter, which could explain why you don't see it any more.

Probably best to ask a question on HP's forum...

@dalchina, it did come pre-installed with Bang & Olufsen sound. It is showing the B & O Play applet in the hidden icons area next to the People icon. I can't remember what that part of Windows is called. However, the sound just doesn't sound as good as what Bang & Olufsen sound puts out.

    I don't understand the problem.

The audio hardware in the PC is Realtek. The Bang & Olufsen player part is software; I believe that it doesn't involve any special hardware or drivers.

Is the Bang & Olufsen software still installed? It appears to not be available for download. (No surprise there.) If it's gone, I don't know how easy it'll be to get it back. I suggest that you contact HP support. I fear that they'll suggest something wonderful like a factory restore.

Have you tried to download from the download link in the article I quoted? What happened?

If the software has been removed during the upgrade due to incompatibility, you can try to find a copy to download and see if that works.

This is a program supplied by HP.

@dalchina, what do I need to download? I don’t see anything regarding the B & O Play software?

The following link took me to a place to select the type of sound I have. In my case, I don't know if it comes from the speakers or the monitor.
