Multiple USB memory stick transfers gitching

    Hello All,

At our business we transfer files to multiple memory sticks on the same PC. We're running windows 10, and have two USB extender hubs which have 4 usb ports each. I've found on multiple windows 10 PCs, that over time bugs develop in the transfers which causes a few different errors:
    1) USBs will malfunction and become unrecognisable (just to this PC, usually not others)
    2) Error message 'An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file..... 0x80070022
    3) Error message - USB disconnects and I get the storage device is no longer available.

I've done some googling and I can't seem to find any information about this issue. Can anyone shed any light as to why this may be happening or if there is a more reliable solution for transferring files to USB.

    Thanks,
    Sean

Check whether a DriveCleanup can resolve the problem. Read my post #7 here Must Assign Drive Letter Each Time I Swap Drives

Note: Before you do a DriveCleanup as in para 2 in it, Remove all other USB Storage devices, USB hubs, USB Printers with built-in Card Readers. If the PC has built-in Card Reader, disable it in Device Manager. ( You can reenable it after the DriveCleanup operation). You can keep any USB Mouse/USB Keyboard plugged in. ( Those are not storage devices ). Also disconnect internet/network.

And especially, if you are plugging in and out removable storage devices often, you should regularly run this once in a while to remove the redundant entries in the registry and keep it clean.
