    CB

    Thanks for that, but >>

A- mine does not have a USB port, 13 0n mine is the printer/laptop cable plug/socket.

B- if I can figure how to take pic and attach I will.

C-even if it had one, how would that remedy the problem?

It's probably a type B USB connection on the printer which is where the confusion is arising, so the USB cable will be type A to type B.

    2 cables
    1 is power cable
1 connects to laptop by usb, the usb port being on laptop
Thus it has a USB port. Again the printer USB port possibly went bad. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04854937

    UPDATE

Hi Guys, firstly, thanks for all the tips, still not working, so I have copied files to a stick, and done copies in local shop, had to convert them to PDF first.

I have removed printer as I cannot see what else to do, I have even changed fuse in plug.

And still I say, I know what a USB port and plug are, as I have 3 USb ports on pc, and use many sticks, and I cannot see one on my printer, and as I said previously, even if it had one, how would that help error message status.

Top one is power port and bottom one USB2 "B" type connector: Printers don't like USB3 ports so make sure you are connecting to USB2 port in the computer.
Did you try installing drivers before you plug in and power the printer ?

1st is the power port, the second is the USB port. Your printer is Wifi capable. You can set it up to use your wireless network, not USB. No need to convert to PDF when you can still print through Network printing, unless the Print Server or Print system service in Windows is what is messed up.
