    1. What does Device Manager show (make sure you show Hidden Devices) ?
    2. Are you using CyberLink YouCam ?

Note: I have HP Envy 17 Laptop ... I'm not using any CyberLink software (YouCam) and my camera is using the MS Driver (usbvideo.inf) located in the "C:\Windows\INF" folder.

    Hi Eagle51. No hidden devices.
HP did recommend YouCam and I tried it. Didn't work.
It appears the the update only affected certain software/devices. My webcam in my old Toshiba Satellite still works.

K, so it disappeared from Device Manager and Win10 doesn't recognize it anymore

BTW ... What version of Win10 are you running ? (winkey + r > winver)

    If you haven't already ...
    1. Real Long Shot, but you could try going to "C:\Windows\INF\usbvideo.inf" and right click on the usbvideo.inf > install. Then Reboot PC and Hope Windows finds your camera.
    2. Try sfc /scannow - Run SFC Command in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials
    Note: Use Option #3
    3. Try DISM Repair - Use DISM to Repair Windows 10 Image | Windows 10 Tutorials

The Cyberlink Youcam software should recognize it. As for the camera, does it even show up in Device Manager? You can try to install the HP Media software for the webcam. HP ENVY 17-1011nr Notebook PC - Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support
