I know that you can use Fsutil to mark a volume as dirty. This in turn has the autochk run on the selected volume. But I was wondering if there was a way to mark the whole drive for chkdsk during the next reboot. Oh, this has to be done via cmd and one line commands. We use a client management software that allows the remote execution of cmd style commands. Thanks for the help.
Welcome to the forum. Marking the disk dirty it should test the whole drive on start
Me thinks he wants to scan multiple volumes on whole drive by using one cmd batch line.
Dirty workaround would be calling (if supported by your software) another batch form your one command line, in that batch file each fsutil commands for its volume.
if that approach fail, you can try bit harder with command nesting and/or pipelining. && / | .. that would require a bit try and error, ... it doesen't work the same even on different windows versions... lol
(sometimes some combinations , as @Rem-sometext were giving me a headache and were even executed... ah compilers...)
Thanks. I will try that and forward it off to my co-worker. Some more background: this is mainly for machines that we cannot remotely interact with their GUI's. The remote software that we use has been set to where there needs to be user consent, but working over night we have to find other ways around this to complete our tickets. Will update when test.
