    Well progress in small increments.

The fact that it won't boot is a little depressing but if the files were recovered that is a big step.

Can you boot with Kyhi's recovery disk and see c: on the drive. Better yet can you see c:\users and can you grab her documents.

Then you don't need the recovery guy as you will have all here patterns.

@Caledon Ken, where would I find the files that were recovered?

It looks like that the problem with the drive that is showing failure is that it is RAW. Can it be converted to NTFS?

You said I could see if I can boot from Kyhi's Recovery Disk. I did that successfully. From what I gathered, you said I needed to see if I could recover the files that were recovered during the scan. I don't know where to go from there.

So when you did the recovery did you recover them on the laptop drive. Several posts back there was discussion of recovering to a different drive.

If they are on the laptop drive you should see that drive in file explorer (using Kyhi's disk)

@Caledon Ken, the software was Monogram something, Embird, and some other software for embroidering and sewing. The only thing I saw when I first scanned it was Embird. I am thinking it was Monogram It.
