Off Topic for Win 10: Windows 7 Corrupted Partiiton Table & Hard Drive

I don't think this drive is cooked. If it was cooked, then why is it still booting up? Alright, so it's not booting into Windows of coarse. But I think that's because the partition table is corrupt. It also needs the boot configuration on it fixed. If I have to, I will just reach out to an agent from my Internet Service Provider which is CenturyLink and just ask them to help me. I know y'all are getting frustrated with me.

Hey I never said anyone was stupid, never, never, never.

You ran the Seagate tests and the drive failed that is what I'm going on. You confirmed this to me.

While data recovery seems impossible if you wish to reload that drive you have every right too.

I would follow one of the tracks to to reload Win 7 on a Dell.

Just so we are all on the same page. Which drive are we talking about and which PC.

There is a drive in the laptop right now. You could boot that laptop with Kyhi's recovery disk and then use File explorer to perform a low level format. If it passes the low level format I would proceed with installing Win 7. Once 7 is installed and activate I would do an Image back up.

A low level format will further reduce any chance that anyone, like a data recovery firm, could get data from it.

I am talking about my external drive. It's a Western Digital. I mentioned it in this thread.

There was a %TB drive and then you had a Western Digital that I recall but I thought it was one sealed in an enclosure.

Is this just a standard 2.5 drive with no enclosure around.

@Caledon Ken, I read online that it can be converted to an internal drive.

It's a 1 TB drive.

Depending on the age some can be converted. A lot of newer models have the drive solder to the electronics. I've taken apart one and got lucky as I was able to increase drive size. Another, well I told the client it was gone.

Great for reliability for a drive on the move, lousy for the user as either the drive or the electronics fail and you are beat.

You would know the exact model and serial number. Maybe google and see if there is info on whether the drive is solder. Maybe this is what you did already when you stated in can be converted.
