Where to connect Logitech Premium Headset

    Hi,
Some time ago before Windows 10 I purchased a Premium Headset made by Logitech, it has two plugs, one black, the other pink or orangey pink.

The black plug looks like the headset plug, the other looks like it has a USB symbol but its round like plug.

I connected it to the front of my pc. It didn't like that, no connection, so I went to the back of my pc and connected black lead into black socket (audio headphone), the other into what looks like pink/orange socket.
I received a message saying plug is connected to Realtek audio.

However, I still get no sound from the headphones, I do not know if the mouthpiece works as yet. I was going to use it when using Skype.

Does my external speakers need to be disconnected for the headset to work or it should not matter?

    I have an Asus Motherboard.
    Regards.
    Peter

The green socket on the motherboard's I/O panel is stereo out. The pink is for microphone in. (The black plug is for the rear channels for 5.1 or 7.1 channel sound.)

Connect the black plug from the headphones to the green socket. Pink to pink.

I imagine that you'd have to remove your external speakers to free up the green socket.

Did you plug the headphone into your front panel audio ports correctly? On my (Corsair) case, there's a headphone symbol next to one port, and a mic symbol next to the other. The black plug goes into the headphone jack.

    Hi bobkn,

Thanks for your reply and much appreciate your help. No, I have not disconnected the external speakers to free up the green socket.

I did try to connect the headphone into the front panel , I'm sure it when into the correct ports. It had no notification to let me know new device detected or words to that effect..

I'm going to take a photo of the front and rear panel as well as the headset plugs.Don't know if I can post them on here as reference.

    Thanks

    Thanks for your message.

My pc was built from scratch and not purchased ready made from a shop outlet.

I'll try to provide the information you require, please bear with me whilst I navigate the device for the specs.
    Cheers.

Not sure if this image will work but can only go on what I can access in my device

    @bondy99

Do you have a dual input on the front, or single?

If it's single, you may need one of these...
