I need help troubleshooting a new system build with no display.

    I have:
    ASUS Prime - B250 Plus
    Intel Core I5 - 7600K
    32 Gb Vengeance LPX memory
    EVA 550 Watt PSU
500 Gb Samsung 850 EVO SSD
    LG Blu Ray drive
1 Tb Western Digital Green HDD
    1 Tb Seagate Barracuda HDD

I put the system together with no problem. However when I went to turn it on the system acted like it was going to boot. The Blu Ray Drive was scanned for media and there is no display, keyboard, or mouse

I know my monitor works and I know the keyboard and mouse work too just by testing them a few minutes before and after on another computer.

    My troubleshooting so far was
    Checked the connections
Insert an older AMD R7 video card
Removed the memory to throw a definite post code error
Disconnected each drive one by one.

    Any Ideas?

And why do my personal system builds work perfect, but working with another's is a mess?

Do case and CPU fans spin?

If your motherboard has any LEDs, do they light up?

I had identical symptoms on my last build a couple of years ago. Defective motherboard returned for a replacement.

My fans would spin, but I'd get absolutely nothing on a monitor.

I assume your power supply is known good and works when connected to another motherboard.

I assume this motherboard has never been used and that you have no particular reason to think its OK.

    Here's a last resort method:

Pull the board out of the case and set it on cardboard.

Strip it down and then add components back, one at a time, to try and isolate the offending component.

    Power off, power cord unplugged

Disconnect all drives and remove all cards.

    Remove all RAM sticks.

    Connect ONLY mouse and keyboard.

Connect the power cord and turn the PC on.

The motherboard should start beeping. You should get a beep code that tells you there is no memory. This is good, it means the processor is functioning and the motherboard is good so far.

Add one stick of memory and power on. More beeping: "no video card" beep code. This is good.

Add the video card and connect it to the monitor. You should get no beeping and you should see the BIOS screens, ending with the message that there is no boot device.

If you don't use a video card, look in the BIOS and confirm that it is set to boot from integrated CPU video. I think it should attempt to do that by default if you don't use a separate card.

If you get no video then try other memory sticks, using all available slots in sequence.

Continue adding components one at a time.

If at any point the PC fails, the last component added was the problem one.

If you removed everything and there is only the motherboard (with integrated video), processor, and power supply to contend with and it does not POST or show anything on the screen, then the problem is one of those three.

If you have tested by using another power supply then you are down to two. CPUs rarely fail, so motherboard is the most likely guess.

Try clearing the CMOS as a last ditch effort, and check the 3v battery. Both long shots, but what do you have to lose at this point.

I read post 1 carefully, but I'm not clear on what you see.

Does anything display on the monitor during POST?
