    Synaptics TouchPad Problem

I know this is a known issue with Synaptic Touch Pads on Windows 10, and I am having the same problem as well, gestures not working. I have tried a lot of steps that fixed other devices, but didn't helped me one bit. I have an old Acer Aspire 2930 laptop. The software driver installed on my machine came from Windows Update the version is 19.1.3.6. it also appears as Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad on Device Manager. I have tried installing the old driver from Acer driver website but unfortunately the installation fails and does not finish, I tried installing it over compatibility mode as well. Any more ideas for a fix?

P.S. I found an old thread about this which was opened 663 days ago, I don't wanna necro that old post that's why I am opening a new one. Steps there did not work for me as well.

My experience: Initially when I had this problem I searched for older drivers- around vn 16. The one that worked for my PC (See specs) was intended for a Dell Alienware machine.

Since then, the driver has upgraded to
    SGS Version: SGS 15.3
TouchPad Series 3.0 - Imaging Sensor
    Driver Version: 19.0.15.2 09Jul15
    Firmware Version: 1.2

    - and all functions seem ok.
