Trying to erase system partition from 2nd hard drive (errors)

Now that I have Windows installed on a new SSD, I want to complete erase the old (second) hard drive and have the entire drive available as one drive letter. I tried removing that system partition using diskpart but getting the following error:

Delete is not allowed on the current boot, system, pagefile, crashdump or hibernation volume.

    Can someone help?

You have no system partition on your SSD. You need to shrink the C: drive partition by 100 MB and clone the EFI SYstem Partition to the empty space on the SSD. Then make sure the UEFI/BIOS is actually booting from the hard drive by setting it first in the boot priorities.

I'm actually reinstalling Windows on the SSD without the 2nd hard drive plugged in. That would have to add the system partition on the SSD right?

Thank you so much by the way, for all the help. NEXT QUESTION LOL...

The primary hard drive (in this case the SSD) is listed as Disk 1 in Disk Manager and the secondary hard drive is listed ahead as Disk 0. Does this matter?

Fixed. I just switched the sata cables. I think I'm finally good to go! This SSD drive is much faster by the way, totally worth the $30.
