Not to give the wrong impressions. Lots of backups can be done while you are using computer.

I meet people and they say backups take so long. Then I say do you ever go to the store. Puzzled look on their face, I know it is safe to say start the backup and leave.

All the backup software should have a notification in bright red, "You don't have to watch me".

Where do you guys put your internal drives in when taking them to either a closet whatever area? Do you guys put it inside a special sleeve?

Assuming you mean external, not internal....

Most are self-contained, so don't really need any other container or such. I have a fireproof case I store mine in. For the "internal" style 2.5" SSD and 3.5" HDD that go in my self-powered enclosure, they came with silicon jackets, used for gripping them and inverted will cover and protect the contacts. Again, in the fireproof case.

    Any help?

Hey f14tomcat! Good to see you! Thank you very much for your time and assistance. Yes, helpful, but need more info.

I meant an internal drive used externally either on a docking station or whatever source out of the case and then placed into an area for safe keeping and was curious if there was a certain sleeve or container etc. that you would put the drive into so it won't get damaged.

If you don't mind, can you share the brand and model of your fireproof case and the self-powered enclosure? That would be helpful in my decision process as I digest everybody's advice. What is the inside of the fireproof case made of?

There are a lot of good options everyone is giving me, so I am taking the time and patience before I make my complete decision. Haven't decided yet and it might take me another few days to finally decide. Hopefully soon as I would like to move on!

Thank you very much again! Sweet! Helpful.

Do you store any of your drives offsite or are you confident that in case of a fire that the fireproof case inside your home would be sufficient? Also, the case description said fire resistant not proof, any problems with resistance over proof?

Great job on the self-install! What type of foam rubber did you use?

Also, the docking station is not by Themaltake, is this another model by the same company?

    Thank you again.

Oops! Wrong link, sorry. This is the one:

    https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-E...70_&dpSrc=srch

Foam rubber is just from a shipping carton I received with something fragile in it. Black, about 1" thick, has dimples like an egg carton! Just cut it to fit and layers. Soft bed for drives.

On the fireproof. Nothing is going to be total fireproof, they are rated up to a max temp fire resistant, varies. Only totally fireproof would be a bank vault safe deposit box, or such.
