    Thank You!

I had the same problem as solved as follows:
    1) Installed the Bluetooth Command Line Tools
Bluetooth command line tools - work with bluetooth from the command line
    2) Get the MAC address of my device
This can be obtained in Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers in the properties of the device. It often appears under the name of "Unique identifier"
    3) run the command
    btpair -u -b xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
This will unpair (-u) the bluetooth device with the xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx MAC address
I registered in this forum just to say thank you for this solution. I've been trying to solve this issue for almost a year! I tried so many solutions which failed (including many restarts) -- but this just worked!

    Thanks!

P.S. For those who don't see their device in "Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers", An alternative way is to go to
    1. Control Panel > Device Manager
    2. View > Show Hidden devices
    3. Right click device under bluetooth section
    4. Properties > Details > Hardware IDs
    5. Take the number/letter combo at the end, and place : every 2 letters
    e.g. BTHENUM\Dev_001694355AF8 becomes 00:16:94:35:5A:F8

One last thing: If this bluetooth tool saved your life and you want to thank the creator, you can donate: Bluetooth Driver Installer - Donate

    It worked!!!.
I've made the tools installation and executed the command.
In my case, sections "Devices and Printers" and "Bluetooth & other devices" displayed the status "paired" after I executed the command btpair but I went to my device and put it on pairing mode, then I went to "Add Bluetooth or other device" in section "Bluetooth & other devices" and it found my device (a keyboard) and set the status to "connected".

It seems this kind of issues happens really often. Thank you so much for share your knowledge.

I made an account here just to thank you for this solution. I spent hours trying to remove a paired bluetooth controller from my machine from the bluetooth menu, device manager, even using third party programs. Every time I would go to pair the controller again the system would re-install the driver as soon as the controller went to pairing mode, but it wouldn't actually pair!

Removing it this way made it instantly show up in my pairing list and it works perfectly. I was about to reinstall Windows I was so frustrated.

Thank you!!!! You're my internet hero of the day.
Same here, simple solution, brilliant hero!! ps4 controller works again!

    Thanks for saying so.

But do make a note of the Bluetooth command line tools link in case you need that one day [see post #12 & others].

    Welcome to TenForums.

It's really worth making time to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.
    - At the foot of the Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.
    - I download a new copy each month so I can benefit from Excel's filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
    - Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
    - Both tutorial pages are searchable.
    - You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,
    taskbar toolbars site:tenforums.com/tutorials

    - And note that you can also search TenForums threads [rather than just searching tutorials] in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com after your search term. For example,
Search for drivers by HardwareID site:tenforums.com
[This is what the search box in the top-right corner of TenForums webpages does automatically]

This looks like it may fix my issue, but I cannot for the life of me find the MAC address of the device. I've gone to Devices and Printers, then checked out the properties; is it on the Details tab? If so, which item do I need to pick from the drop down box?

I think I may have the wrong device selected perhaps?

EDIT: I turned the device (a bluetooth gamepad) on and amazingly, it connected today!! What the?!

Anyway, trying to find the unique MAC address, which property should I be looking for?

    I can see:

    • Association Endpoint ID
    • Association Endpoint Address (think it could be this)

    Endpoint Address is: cc:03:ab:26:8a:3a

But when I try the command, it says - Unknown argument?

    submeg,

    Control panel,
    Devices & printers,
    right-click on the Bluetooth device,
    Properties,
    Bluetooth tab.

Near the bottom you'll see the entry
    Unique identifier
That is what rcassini says is the Mac address and it certainly has the right format.

    All the ebst,

ANOTHER way to get there! Crazy...

But yes, found it - cc:03:ab:26:8a:3a

Does the device have to disconnect / off to remove it?

@Try3, I tried this, gave me the same ID - but still returning unknown argument. Any ideas? Made sure I ran the BT Command Prompt in Admin mode as well...

    - - - Updated - - -

Ugh, would help if I added ALL the attributes:

    -u -b

EDIT: Nope, still appearing, still showing paired.
