Logitech Driver Interface with Question Mark in Device Manager

    Hi,

Using Logitech Wireless Desktop MK710, and SetPoint 6.68.250, on Windows 10 Pro v 17134.191.

In my Windows Device Manager, Hidden Devices, I have 4 instances of Logitech Driver Interface with a question mark against each. Each have driver version 5.92.28.0.

There does not appear to be any error messages, but the question mark is always there. If I uninstall them, after a reboot they reappear, in exactly the same way.

So, what are they, why are they there and why is there a question mark?

That's the way I've always seen the Logitech Driver Interface elements show up in Device Manager. I can only make them appear when I select "show hidden devices," in fact. The question mark seems to be part of the icon rather than indicating some kind of problem. It remains the same, even after uninstalling the presently installed driver, and then re-installing a known, good working driver from the Logitech site.

Shot from my production desktop just now, with Logitech M325 mouse and Unified Transceiver installed:

I've tried to "fix" this for years without success, and have gotten to the point where I think it doesn't matter, because my mouse/transceiver work fine (with or without Logitech drivers installed, in fact).

Mine looks exactly like yours Ed.

This is how device is being identified

But I see no drivers for this on Logitech. All the driver sites say they have but .......

I still think it's part of the actual icon itself. Look at this:

The question mark shows up in the icon reflected back in this window that says "the best driver for this device is already installed." Playing around with this shows that the icon comes as part of the package of info provided by the driver maker (try it with other known, good working devices and you'll see what I mean).
For some unfathomable reason looks like Logitech used a question mark as part of the device driver icon for the Logitech Driver Interface.
    Very interesting!

    Even more interesting:

Looks like this is one big no-op (null operator).

More info from Lenovo's website about the blue question mark:

This makes it most likely that Logitech does not supply an icon for this device (or a driver, either, apparently) so the PC is a generic icon that MS supplies, and the blue question mark tells us it's also supplying a compatible driver as well. Thanks for helping me figure this out once and (hopefully) for all!

As they say... Working as designed.

I wonder if Logitech even knows? or cares?
