Gigabyte boards offer good performance for the price and they provide tech support for the product life. However, they only post BIOS and driver updates for about 3 years after the product release. Other brands offering longer software support may be an advantage if they exist.
Thanks Steve C. The 3 year limit is OK with me, who knows what I'll have 3 years from now -

After reading the review Ed pointed me to, I learned the Gaming 7 got a 7/10 rating. The same site reviewed the Gaming 5 and gave it a 8/10. My guide was always an 8/10 or better rating, or 4 eggs on newegg. I looked into the Gaming 5 board and while is didn't have some of the features of the Gaming 7, it did have built in wi-fi which is a big plus to me. The fact it was $50.00 cheaper didn't hurt either. I ordered the 5.

After skimming thru the Gaming 5 manual, the BIOS seems to be set up differently than the ASUS or ASRock. Looking forward to dealing with a new set up.

All 3 of the boards I have, or will have, have BIOS updates for the next Intel CPU. After the GB mobo is installed, I'll have the ASRock mobo and a empty case in my "computer supply depot" - there's a new CPU on the way - OH NO - I'm never going to get a kitchen table.

Hope you enjoy the new mobo when it shows up. Happy system building!
