After migrating from HDD to SSD hardware acting strangely

Hi, I finally saved some money so I bought Kingston A400 240 GB SSD. I installed fresh install of Windows 10 and installed all drivers as usual. But a lot of thing started behaving strangely. Problems with Win10 not being able to recognise SSD is sort of figured out, the reason is my SATA II controller can't do AHCI. That is being sorted now, I am in process of adding SATA III card to my system but due to layout the graphics card is blocking the only accessible PCIE x1 port. But that is not the matter of this question.

Way, way worse for me is that I am using HDMI to VGA converter. It is pretty simple device, I don't even know the name of it (it doesn't have anything written on it), it just converts HDMI to VGA. I am using second display for multiple computers, so I usually unplug the VGA cable from the monitor and plug other in. On the previous system the display got completely removed and system acted like there is nothing connected. After the update when I unplug the cable from the display, the classic "disconnect sound" can be heard, but right after that another "connect sound" happens and the system is thinking that some 'virtual' 1024x768 display is connected. Again - worked before like a charm, now it doesn't want to work and does this weird stuff. And it is pretty darn annoying - mouse gets stuck on the other virtual display frequently and audio device keeps resetting to HDMI even though I uninstalled or disabled the device from device manager. After every unplug it resets to a non-existant HDMI display.

Another problem is with audio. Before I was able to install VIA HD audio V11.1100f (last for Windows 10 64bit), but after restart popup message opens and says "Your OS is 64bit. Please use 64bit application." But again - it worked before! Sadly, VIA dropped all driver base for Windows 10 64bit, so I can't look for latest driver. And sadly, Windows 10 Update thingamajig wouldn't install the HD Audio Deck app for me. I need the app to work.

Like I said - everything worked like a charm before migrating to SSD (which involved installing the latest update - 1803 I believe is the number? Anyway it wasn't installed before), so I think there is huge problem somewhere in Windows. And it is slowly, but surely driving me nuts... Thanks for help, any idea is appreciated!

Your biggest problem is that you are dealing with old tech that is no longer supported by Microsoft and that you have caused yourself to become planned obsolete by not having a motherboard that will work with the newer tech. I would look at upgrading the motherboard to future proof yourself.

I managed to fix the problem with VIA HD Audio Deck. But the second problem that is really, REALLY bugging me out is the converter.

As for the video, get a Switcher that you can just flip over to the monitor you want. If having issues with the display adapter, remove the adapter and driver from Device Management and let Windows reinstall upon boot. Your Video card should be using the standard NVIDIA GeForce drivers. There has been issues in the past with Windows 10 and NVIDIA drivers.
