Stopcode re: bthhfenum.sys even AFTER uninstalling Bluetooth device.

guys I need your advice here. I'm embarrassingly stumped
Since Update to 1803 build 17134.165 my formerly rock-reliable Bluetooth device, Intel N 7265, became unstable, with the 'trigger' seeming to be merely hitting the "Connect" function. First I updated the driver and thought it was ok because I did not proceed to actually connecting anything - it is not stable. Then I tried rollback drivers, with no apparent change in behavior.

Uninstalled the device and all drivers related to it, so it shows up now as an "unknown". I did not find a generic MS Bluetooth driver on the system, to my surprise. STILL I am getting errors, i.e. Stopcode fingering bthhfenum.sys, sometimes now just after restart. Why is that file even being loaded is one question? There are no Bluetooth services now being loaded at startup.

Anyone else have this problem? Googling about, I find old threads from years gone by that are variants on the theme but I have NEVER had a Bluetooth issue on this ultrabook.
A contributing bug is that the crashdump is failing, though it is setup properly. Nothing in the event log either.

    help pls

Pls give me some ideas here.

    Done.
ASUS was no help thus far. Escalated.
ASUS techs say sequence of driver install WIFI/ BT does not matter. Do you guys agree?

Anyone here running successfully the Intel 3165 / 7265 WIFI-Bluetooth - what drivers do you have installed? Version/date?
