    can not locate touchpad settings

I'm using my laptop which obviously has a touchpad. I go to settings-->devices and there is only an option for mouse, nowhere does it say touchpad. Any idea how to locate the settings for it?

In Settings Devices, in the left pane, there is:
    Bluetooth and other devices
    Printers & Scanners
    Mouse
    Touchpad

    That is weird.
Did you check your device manager, for the existence of a touchpad?

It only says 'HID compliant mouse'. But then again, I'm using the touchpad now, and it even seems to be using MS precision gestures.

Download the utility called HWiNFO (either portable or installable) and run it.

When starting make sure the Summary only is unchecked.

The in the main screen got to:
    Bus > PCI Bus
    and look for SMBus Controller

    Do you have one?

    OK...you do have it.
The thing is why Windows and Device Manager do not show it.
Start by opening Device Manager and going to Action > Scan for hardware changes

Thanks. I did and no change. I just got this laptop 2 days ago, and went with the normal Windows setup process. I've never encountered anything like this before.

Just found this in a review of the laptop
"Navigation is accomplished with a decently sized trackpad that utilizes mouse drivers instead of Precision or Synaptics"

The thing is, how am I able to use MS gestures? They seem to work.
