    Can anyone help 'reinstall' Bluetooth?

    Hi,
I would like to use Bluetooth on my windows 10 desktop to copy some video files across from a mobile device to my desktop. But the Bluetooth Icon isn't there - and it isn't installed in programs or in devices...
    Help anyone?

My partner has a similar Windows 10 desktop and she DOES have the Bluetooth icon.

    Similarities don't count.

Bluetooth doesn't automatically come with Notebooks/Laptops but those that do have it show as part of the Wireless/Wi-Fi adapter, built-in, and has to have drivers installed. Some Notebooks have a physical switch to turn it on before Windows loads or maybe an Fn + another key to do it.

Most Desktops don't include it, my ASUS from 2 years ago did as a separate card [which I had to remove to put in a different card].

Most Tablets do have Bluetooth so one can use such keyboards and mice plus transfer capability.

If a Desktop doesn't have the adapter a USB Bluetooth dongle can be acquired to gain that function but still needs drivers that may come with it or download from the vendor's site.

    Hello Neil,

What brand and model number is your motherboard, or PC if an OEM?

This way we can look up its specs to see if it includes Bluetooth support or not.

Okay - Strange as I thought I had seen it before - obviously not... now to try to figure how to get videos from my android to my computer as uploading them to Google Drive takes an eternity.

You should be able to directly connect the Android to your computer via USB, open the "This PC" on the PC to see the Android listed like a drive, and copy over the video files from the Android.

You can also get a Blueetooth v4 usb dongle. They are not expensive.
