There must be some key or key combination that I'm hitting that I'm unaware of that locks my keyboard while I'm working on it It doesn't matter what I'm doing, whether surfing the web or in a program it just locks and I can't doa thing with the keyboard anywhere until I reboot, which is inconveient at time since I sometimes have a few windows open.

Or Win+L?
Acer Aspire ES1-711 Laptop Win+L works. If it's a function key I don't know which one. Hardly ever use them.
I do have my touchpad locked in the registry -However- there is no specific spot on the keyboard that seems to lock it. I can be using the key pad entering numbers, or just typing in a program. I don't use external programs anymore except AllMyNotes and Chrome and I was not in AMN when it locked up a bit ago. I was in chrome. I pretty much just use what comes with Windows.
I'm up to date on everything except the latest Windows spring upgrade. I'm still working with ver 1709.
Fn + F7 key unlock most Acers, as does Windows key + L for Windows 10 in General its an off/off switch kinda.
If your typing and don’t know what keys your hitting, try one or the other to unlock/lock.
Best I can offer heat has hit and time to head to colder climes or a cool and frosty.
