Dell Precision 5510 - Upgraded HDD to SSD. Your opinion.

    Hi,
I have recently upgraded the default 500GB HDD on my Dell Precision 5510 to Samsung SSD 970 EVO installed a clean Windows 10 Pro, installed and updated all the drivers and Windows updates.
I want to share with you the performance of the SSD and your opinion will be highly appreciated.

    1. What do you think of the performance of the drive?
    2. Why the benchmark reading from AS SSD tool is way different than the other two?
    3. Should I update the driver of the NVMe from Microsoft to Samsung's driver? Will I get a better performance?
    4. Why RAPID Mode is not supported? Is it normal?

    Specification from Samsung website...

    Samsung Magician SSD Information...

    Performance Benchmark with Samsung Magician...

Performance Benchmark with CrystalDiskMark 6.0.1 x64...

    Performance Benchmark with AS SSD...

It's an impressive M.2 SSD. That said, I don't think that your 970 supports RAPID mode.

Thank you @Plankton, indeed after reading about 970 EVO and PRO, they don't support RAPID mode.

I think the reason for that is because that SSD is 6 times faster than the 840/850 series.

What about updating to Samsung's driver? Samsung recommends and claims...

    * The Samsung NVMe driver ensures maximum compatibility between host and Samsung NVMe PCIe M.2 SSDs, and optimizes system performance.
