    SD Card issue

In my Surface Pro with Windows 10 O.S. , the add on storage (Micro SD Card) displays Storage Capacity ok (471Gb free of 500 GB) in This PC, but when i select all the contents properties of add on storage(512 GB Micro SD Card) ,it shows very less Storage used (i.e. 4 GB Apprx.)

It has to be limited to 32gig and on a lot of devices ther are still limits of the reader I would suspect that is the problem

Turns out they do make them that big. I didn't know that. Anyway, if it is limited to 4 GB, what formatting was used for the partition?

You may need to use something like Partition Wizard to format the card, assuming the Surface can handle one that large.

It's confusing, are you saying the 512GB card is formatted to 4GB or that the 4GB is what is actually stored on the card? Windows cannot format a card or thumb drive, actually any drive, as FAT32 over 32GB, operational limit. Other Operating Systems such as Linux can do better as can some programs such as GPARTED. The card can be formatted as NTFS but the original intent was for the card to be used in cameras and be formatted in the camera as a camera can't usually handle Windows formatting. And all drives/storage devices lose a bit a space due to formatting, may be as much as 10% of the total capacity. Adding to the storage issue is whether files are hidden.
