Windows won't recognize half my RAM

    When I pulled the heatsink off the motherboard the CPU came with it. Never seen that happen before perhaps it was loose and a faulty connection there caused it. Has been at least 2 years since I took that heatsink off.

    OK, that is a possibility. At any rate, I'm very happy it is fixed. If you feel it is, please mark this thread as solved.

    Maybe it wasn't a faulty CPU seating. Thermal compound can do a pretty good job of gluing the CPU to the heatsink.

    If you didn't damage the CPU or its socket, good for you.
