TouchPad problem

I guess where I'm going... Is there a conflict between you mouse and touchpad.

You said it worked at the gig you were d-jaying and worked no issue.

Then at home with mouse and touchpad things went flaky again.

Please shut off mouse and see if touchpad gives you issue. Might need to install driver for touchpad again. Trying to get to conditions like they were Saturday night.

Wow, hard one to diagnose.

Lets hope the re-install with the mouse switched to off provides some insight either positive of negative.

Sn00ker had suggested a conflict with another program. It's been a long thread. Have you ever done a clean boot to get all third party stuff out of way temporarily.


Is there any thing else different about Saturday night to a home experience, a program you use when at home but wouldn't use when d-jaying?

A clean boot eliminates third party software. Then through a process of elimination you try to identify a conflict.

A little bit painful.

When I get to this point I start to consider a rebuild. Windows is messy and most machines have a long history of updating, installing and removing. Something to consider. Would you happen to have spare drive that you could at least install Windows on and say a browser for a test?

Always a concern.

Base Windows load is usually under 1.5 hours. Then it is the apps (with customizations) and copying back data. I would build a list and prioritize. For each complex app I would look up how to save settings / user data.

Myself I would think about a new drive. Two benefits, one, new technology like SSD, two - you can always revert to old.

With a drive dock you can also look back on files and or copy one.

Before you get to far ahead maybe just try the clean boot and a browser. Can't remember, what AV do you use? If using browser you want AV but some AV can cause interference.
