Hmm- the result of the comparison should be quite small... e.g. 1 web page with 10-30 results.

Is there a lot going on on your PC, and is this the result of taking 2 shots and comparing?

So when I'm running it I'm not doing anything else on the machine.
This result is from clicking shot... Let it run... Click disable and apply... Click 2nd shot... Let it run.... Click compare that's it

Ok, post the file, and try monitoring the key.

Damaged. You could try 7-zip for example...

Agree- seems just that one for yours. See what happens..

If that changes when the touchpad is again disabled, the next thing would be to change permissions on the registry key (backing up appropriately) and seeing if that protects it.

Beyond that, it would be a matter of trying to determine what's changing it.

i think the key changed from 0 to 1
    - you do need to be sure about that. Best let it happen once again and monitor.

    Enable the touchpad.
Back up the key by exporting it. (Rt click, export).

Change the permissions so no write is allowed by the 2nd two.

    Monitor and see what happens.

    ==========================
To find out what's doing this, you would need to find out what's accessing that key.
This - in principle-can be done using Process Monitor (by Sysinternals/MS).

Essentially that captures all activity, and allows you to apply a filter to the display list. This is technically awkward and time consuming. There are some internet references to doing this.

However a simple view would say you're only looking for that particular key, perhaps ony with 1 or 2 occurrences- so even tho' the log file would be huge, all you have to do is search for it. Further, if you use the other tool, you know when to look for an event.

I did find a small tool that simply notifies you of a change to a particular registry key, which would help in knowing when it happens, but not what caused the change.
