How to enable Stereo Mixer in Windows 10 1803 OS 17134.112

Tried to record with Goldwave Digital Audio Editing Software but I cannot find how to enable the Stereo Mixer in Windows 10 1803 OS 17134.112.
In previous Windows versions including Windows 10 I could click on the speaker icon > Recording and enable Stereo Mixer as can be shown below (although that is a screenshot from my laptop running Windows 8.1).

Any help would be most appreciated.

Right-click the speaker icon, select "Sounds", then click on the "Recording" tab.

If you can't get it to work check this:

Right click an empty space and make sure 'Show Disabled Devices' is checked, then, right click on 'Stereo Mix' and enable it...

I use Goldwave. You can select the audio source, such as Mic. However, if you want to record streaming audio from the Internet you need Stereo Mix.

For Stereo Mix you need the hardware driver, e.g. Realtek. If you only have the generic, basic function, Windows installed High Definition Audio there is NO stereo mix with this driver.

Stereo mix does not exist for many Windows 10 computers [because the audio drivers have not been written to provide it].

I use the free edition of ActivePresenter for this job. This can record video and audio [or just audio on its own if required].

I found these links useful in getting to grips with it -
Tutorials - ActivePresenter - Screen Recording & Interactive ELearning Authoring Software
    ActivePresenter Community

I do not know if there is anything suitable in the Windows store because I do not use the Store much.

When recording just audio, I follow the instructions to record [Record movie / Streaming video] and set the checkbox for Record system audio in the recording interface that appears.
    Then, at the end, I

    1. open up the interface,
    2. right-click on the audio track waveform shown near the bottom of the screen [the waveform itself not its label],
    3. select Export to file,
    4. save it as an .mp3, .wav or .ogg.

I can also use ActivePresenter's editing capabilities to trim out any silences at the start & end - I click in the timeline itself rather than the waveform display and then drag around the start-end markers that appear.

Thanks all for your contributions to this post.
I did manage to find Stereo Mixer via the speaker icon, select "Sounds", Settings and Sound control panel then click on the "Recording" tab as Ben Myers suggested. Goldwave would was still not able to open the device. Probably because as some of you pointed out I have the Realtek generic driver which does not have the Stereo Mixer function as firebird said.
The good news is that I have overcome the problem by going to Goldwave > Options > Control Properties > System > and selecting Core Audio/WASAPI and then to Goldwave > Options > Control Properties > Device > Record > LOOPBACK Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio) [0536] and everything worked again without having to use the Stereo Mixer to record audio from the internet.
Thanks to Try3 for pointing me to ActivePresenter which I will try in the next few days.
Thanks again all of you for your contribution.
