Sound Balance not working with bluetooth headphones on Windows 10

Hey guys, so my sound balance on windows 10 is not working. I'm using old Bluetooth headphones and one side is slightly quieter. I normally adjust the sound balance to make it louder on one side and quieter on the other. Today for some reason however this is not working. Anytime I adjust sound both sides adjust remaining even. The symbols for Left (L) and Right (R) have also been replaced by 1 and 2. I've tried reinstalling/reconnecting the headphones but nothing works. If anyone could share a fix I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've asked this question everywhere and no one answers. Like guys is this the holy grail of tech issues or something? Honestly if someone could even take a guess I'd appreciate it.

Press the Windows and "R" keys simultaneously, type "devmgmt.msc" into the "Run" box and click "OK". When Device Manager starts, expand "Sound, video and game controllers", right-click on the sound device, select "Update driver", "Browse my computer for driver software", then "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer". If one is found, install it. You may have to restart the computer for the change to take effect. Ben

I don't use Bluetooth, but if you see Bluetooth drivers in Device Manager, you might try the same thing with them.
