Kingston HyperX Cloud Inop after last Windows Update

I have a pair of the original Cloud 'phones which worked fine in Windows 7 and has worked fine in Windows 10 up until the last update. The original Clouds are not recognized by Windows by design and do not have nor need drivers. After the last time Windows updated I hear no sound from my headphones. I can uninstall the last update, but #$%^& Windows 10 will just re-install it at the earliest opportunity. I'm at a loss as to how to fix this problem other than going back to Win 7..

    Hi and Welcome to TenForums!

The HyperX Cloud headphones are a plug and play device, it's just a 3.5mm headphone jack and do not need a driver. It sounds like the update may have reconfigured your audio driver. Visit the manufacturer's website of your motherboard and install the latest driver for audio.

Thanks Masterchief, I tried that - the old driver was for Win 7 and there was a new(er) driver for Win10 that I installed, but still no sound from my 'phones. :\

Are other headphones working with the PC? The Cloud headphones work while using them on a smartphone?

What does Windows report the Sound settings as? Do you see any yellow triangles in Device Manager?

I have no other headphones. I don't have an adapter for a smartphone. No yellow triangles/exclamation points in Device Manager. Not quite sure what you mean by "what does Windows report the Sound Settings as". The headphones, by design, are not recognized by Windows; therefore they are not an option to choose from in Sound Settings.

Posting this in case anyone else has the same issue with the same motherboard. Headphones are working again with my PC. The cause was the audio driver no longer worked after the last Windows 10 update. You want the 1.03.24 drivers released 01/25/2017, here is a link to Gigabyte's site for the drivers: GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 (rev. 1.0) | Motherboard - GIGABYTE Global
