Windows 10: Audio Stuttering and not starting up correctly

Audio Stuttering and not starting up correctly

So I've had audio issues with my computer for a while now.

    THE ISSUE #1:
The audio will stutter or sound like a buzz every now and again. The issue isn't consistent either. Some days it will be completely fine and I'll have no stuttering, other days it will do it within every 60 seconds.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the audio drivers and graphics to see if that solves the problem. It just seems to change the amount of times it will stutter. I have also tried updating my Graphics card and audio drivers but once again, either they were a temporary fix or they just didn't work.

I have also tried installing windows but this just seems to make the stuttering much more violent.

I think it is a software issue because I have done audio recordings on the system (Recording sound effects off applications) and the stuttering is different in the recorded audio that what I heard.

    ISSUE #2
This is a new one for me. The audio itself now never boots up completely.

I turn the computer on, play a video, no sound.
    RESTARTS COMPUTER
I turn the computer on, play a video, there is sound.

But! only one audio driver is showing up.

I contacted Microsoft chat support a few months back about this issue and they did fix it, but I got the blue screen while editing a video and had to reinstall windows.

So! Does anyone know what this issue is and how to fix it?

    WHAT I HAVE PLUGGED IN:
    - Power plug
    - HDMI is connected to the graphics card
    - HDMI is going into a HDMI Multiport box which has 4 HDMI ports. 3 inputs - 1 output (I have plugged only the PC into the monitor but the problems are still present.)

    - Bluetooth dongle USB 3.0
    - Wired Razor Keyboard

Hi - stutter: see Resplendence's LatencyMon (free) for a check for DPC latency.

    Technically hard to identify cause.
Possible need to use older driver, but there can be other causes.

Several threads here on stutter: please feel free to search the forum for
    stutter
    to find them.

There have been some recent ones, but probably without clear resolution. I don't think anyone here is an expert on this. Some older ones were resolved.

    for a while now.
    - try to think when this started and see if it correlates with e.g. upgrading to build 1803. (See your Update History).

    What is your Windows build?
    Windows key + R, winver
    - or from your Update History.

When stutter is occurring, can you confirm that there is no excessive resource use- CPU, disk...?

I Have explored this thread and I will have to see if it is to do with my connection to the internet. I can do this next time I'm editing as it is an offline task.

    What is your Windows build?

    Windows Version = 1803

I'm not sure when the problems occurred. Maybe around January - February time. I got he computer in December 2017.

I will monitor the usage next time the stuttering gets aggressive on me. So next time I'm playing AOE3. It usually goes off every 30 seconds while playing that.

    - that's significant, as it means you were then using a pre-1803 build. (Drivers may well change with each new build)

I know! I have tried updating the drivers but it just replies with 'The best drivers for your device are already installed'. That was for everything associated with audio I tried to update.

I've even tried driver updating software but with the free version, I was trying to download like 2Mb over an hour. And I wouldn't even be sure if it would fix the problem.

That leaves at least these possibilities:
    a. You need a driver older than what was installed in 1709 (and need to identify which one)
    or
    b. You simply have a resource problem as mentioned above
    or
    c. Your hardware isn't capable of handling that game (have you checked hardware requirements?) - and do you only experience stutter when playing AOE3?
    or
    d. Some other factor
