Block autoloading of mouse driver Windows 10

Hi, update or upgrade to a new build? Could you confirm? It would seem strange for your mouse driver to be affected by a Windows update (rather than an upgrade, when PCs get a new set of drivers).

What you're describing sounds more like what might happen after an upgrade. That said, I've not noticed a problem with my (basic) Logitech mouse.

Hi, an upgrade is the big 6 monthly change when you get a 4Gb or so download, your PC works hard for up to an hour with perhaps 2 restarts. The build number changes, all your operating system files are replaced. New features may be introduced, and perhaps some removed.

Updates are usually smaller, although the first after an upgrade can be almost as big. These normally change no features and are meant to correct problems.

Given that, what is your build number?

Have you completely uninstalled the driver for "HID-compliant Unifying Mouse". including checking the 'delete' box?

I would guess the driver installed is one provided by Windows, and is being installed because Windows thinks it is finding appropriate hardware- i.e. it's not a driver update being downloaded.

Try disabling it:


This does not appear to be a new problem - references back to at least 2015.. suggest you take this up and research it in Logitech's forum or with their support, as they will be best able to help.
