touchpad gestures two finger scroll not working Asus 501

    W10 Pro 1709 16299.431

    ASUS N501VW

Two finger tap opens context menu but other two finger gestures, three finger gestures not working.

This had been working but I've not been using the feature for a few weeks because I've been using external devices. On the road now and would like these features back.

Re-installation of Asus SmartGesture reports success. Rebooted.

The W10 settings.touchpad page does not include any option other than sensitivity. I remember this page having some other option but don't remember what it was.

    Hi there,

    1. Go to N501VW | ASUS Global Downloads
    2. Download the latest ATK - ATKPackage driver
    3. Download the latest TouchPad - ASUS Smart Gesture (Touchpad Driver)
    4. Uninstall both the Touchpad driver and the Asus ATK package driver.
    5. Reboot
    6. First install ATKPackage driver (IMPORTANT to do this FIRST)
    7. Reboot
    8. Then install the TouchPad driver (may need to reboot)
    9. Test if all is working as it should

I had this same issue with my Asus UX305 when I upgraded to Windows version 1803 and doing the above steps solved the issue for me.

A not uncommon problem - I had to search around for a driver version about 3 older - v16 I think- that worked and restored chiral (circular) scrolling etc etc.

    Yep, it's a real mess.

Just for reference, I currently use the following versions:
    TouchPad - v4.0.12 (2015/11/13)
    ATK - v1.0.0050 (2016/10/17)

All working well, and the driver versions can be found HERE (ASUS ZenBook UX305CA - Downloads)

Thanks. This procedure worked. Though, as noted in the conversation below, the current driver 4021 does not work with my configuration. I had a copy of 405 so I used that for the re-install and now touchpad is working again.

Something must have thrown it off so that I needed a re-install but the latest driver doesn't work.

    Thanks again.

Yes Indeed. It turned out that replacing the newest driver with an older driver got things working again. Thanks

Good- strange the way these things happen. Now you may need to hide the unwanted update - see the Tutorial section, or you could use Windows Update Minitool.
