    Gloss and semi gloss PHOTO PAPER is the clue here. Color laser printer can print photos just fine on ordinary paper.

    I ended up going for a canon TR8550. Was pretty pleased, I set it up, connected it my wif network. When I booted windows on both machines they both just auto installed the driver. No messing needed!
