    ssd upgrade how to find out form

    have hp 15au181sa - cant find form. i just want to take old hd out and replace with ssd. will this do- 2.5 inch SATA SSD or does it have to be sata III ? what software/cables do i need to make transition.please help ty

    This claims to be for the 15au series:

    You'll need to remove the back from the laptop to access the HD.

    It's a 2.5" form factor. I don't know its thickness.

    SATA III isn't a different format, just a performance class.

    To clone the HD to an SSD, I'd use a USB to SATA adapter. I used an actual external drive adapter: It's quite cheap in the US; I hope that you could get something similar where you are.

    I also used the cloning software that comes with the SSD (or available for download from the SSD's maker, if you buy a bare drive).
