    hard disk working non-stop

Lately I added a new WD 6TB black hard disk with a front drive - thermaltake.
Only for data. no programs installed on this disk.
The thermaltake has two lights: blue - indicating that the drive is attached with a disk inside, and a red light indicating that the disk is working.
In my case the disk is always working even when I don't address it.
My question is why? what can I do to make the disk relaxed?
    thank you

Some ideas as to how to discover the process accessing your disk:
5 Ways to Find What Programs are Accessing Your Hard Disk Drive • Raymond.CC
How to detect what process is thrashing your hard drive

When you've found out which process is responsible, you can decide what action to take.

Also, it's possible a program running in the background is accessing the drive such as a diagnostic, antivirus, defragging/optimizing, etc. The larger-capacity of a drive will make it seem like it is running constantly. Defragging is pretty much automatic with Win10 although it can be started manually.

    thanks for your quick answer
I don't use defrag and I never schedule any
Windows defender is neutralized and I work with kaspersky
I see kaspersky scans and they are done when it notices inactivity
processes demanding cpu except system idle are:
dwm (desktop manager) which has no connection to this disk since it contains only data
    IAStorDataMgrSvc
the last one is connected to all storage but why does it run and what does it do?
Resource Monitor shows only activity in C: (system disk) which is normal
Process Monitor and Disk Monitor where embarrassing since there is plenty of information there but I couldn't find my disk there
I'm working with Process explorer & process hacker on windows 10 pro with Gigabyte z87 board
    thanks again
