Also, does your bios have something like USB Charging support? Maybe ASMedia USB 3.0 Battery Charging Support?

Is this the Asus H81M-K listed in your My Computer? If yes look down at the bottom for two yellow jumpers. One is marked CLRTC and the one next to it is USBPWF. Change the USBPWF to 5VSB pins 2 and 3, and those USB ports will get 5V from the Stand By power supply, even when the PC is off. The Stand By power supply is always on, as long as the power supply is plugged in and you haven't turned it off with the switch on the back.

EDIT: Once you switch the jumper test all your USB ports. That switch may only affect some, likely the ones on the back connected directly to the motherboard.

Yes, that's my motherboard. I will give it a try and see if it works.

Did you try to put System in Hibernate Mode instead power off?
Or, you could try the Spleep Mode and see if it works.
The Power Off mode differs from Motherboard /BIOS and not all will have that option.
Newer Motherborads, due Energy Star and other Energy specifications may not allow that what you are looking for.

I guess i could try that, but i would prefer to have to shut off my computer when i go to sleep, so that's not really a solution.

I own an ASUS laptop and two ASUS desktop motherboards. The hardware is great IMHO. Tech support, not so much. I had an software issue with my laptop and the tech support I got via e-mail from ASUS was pathetic to put it mildly. Lots of miss information on their end. I'd take what they said with a grain of salt.
My two ASUS motherboards have those USB power source jumpers I mentioned, and switching them does what you want. My USB ports stay powered when I shut down my desktop PC. And I mean shut down, I don't use sleep or hibernate. To the best of my knowledge switching them isn't going to hurt anything, and you can always just put them back the way you found them. Nothing to lose by trying them except a little of your time.

I agree about Asus hardware and Tech Support. TRech support is dismal. But, Iff you can find no other way and you are wanting to charge something, you can always get a Powered USB Hub.

I'm going to try moving the jumpers, i think it's the last thing i haven't tried.

I didnt have any issues with asus support, the only problem i had was how annoying it was to get in touch with them. I had to fill out a lot of details just to submit my ticket, including the serial number on my motherboard which isnt relevant to my problem.

I would have thought that was the most important information you could give them. It is not unknown for manufacturers to make minor revisions during a production run. The serial number would be the only thing that could tell them exactly which hardware revision you have.
