Conexant Audio Drivers in Windows update 2nd appearance

There was an update with Conexant in the title after 1803 had been installed. After that install session a message appeared relaying that MS Windows 10 decided that this particular addition was not good for the Acer V5-551 (orig Win8.1) laptop so it was not installed. BUT there was no sound!
Searching this forum I found a registry edit that worked and sound returned on external speakers.
Now there is another Conexant file in the Update folder labelled 'waiting to be installed'
There is not an indication that this is a file that was adjusted or if it the same file presented previously.
Its now an old laptop which has the sole purpose of being the storage and playback of mpg4 slideshows presented using an Epson projector and external speakers. There has not been an ongoing Conexant update or presence so I don't know why it appeared after 1803 became the version.
Since realtek drivers are in the laptop I wondered about uninstalling anything to do with this Conexant but that was before Win10 update delivered another Conexant file.
So now I don't know whether to allow it to install or if there is a way it can be refused.

    Hi Rose.

You should be able to defer driver updates.

Windows key + R, type sysdm.cpl, enter, click on Hardware Tab, click on Device Installation Settings, click No.

Find the drivers that work and enjoy your laptop.

not always but sometimes driver updates can be hidden with wushowhide.diagcab.

Acer Aspire V5-551 laptop uses only conexant audio drivers, not realtek audio drivers so you should not even install nor use any realtek drivers on there.
