I recently bought a Samsung SSD 850 Evo which i cannected to my MS Surface Pro 2 running Windows 10 Pro using a Type C usb Sabrent Cablrle. After formatting the drive i tried to invoke Rapid Mode but failed. The Magician software does not allow me to do so. I have downgraded Magician to V4.4 but the same happens. Any ideas?
Yes, Rapid mode is merely a RAM Disk set up in your actual RAM. Your limiting factor is the fact that you are connected USB If you had an eSATA connector then you could run Rapid Mode although its useless for anything other than OS where you have a lot of small files are being used. Since it is a RAM Disk it can only be as large as, a percentage of your actual RAM. Any files larger will only get bottlenecked writing to and from your ramdisk and actually be slower than the SSD is already.

Are you saying that if I changed the Sabrent cable to an eSATA cable with type C USB connector I will be able to use the EVO SSD in Rapids mode?

I want to use this disk instead of memory rather than just holding data.

The product info for the device says the top transfer rate is 5.0 Gbps when connected to a USB 3.0 port. It won't go any faster than that, no matter what kind of cable you use to go from the device to the PC/Laptop. Sorry!

Here's a link to Newegg with the best product info I could find on this device (I own 3 of them: 250/500 GB and 1 TB EVO installed). Sabrent USB 3.0 mSATA II-III6G SSD Enclosure Adapter UASPEC-UKMS -
