I have updated Intel ME to 11.7.0.1068 but not showing updated

    Good day,

I updated Intel Management Engine to the latest version which is 11.7.0.1068. But when I run Intel's tool checker. It shows that I have version 11.6.10.1196. I installed the update to the default directory which is C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components. It's really bothering me. Any help would be much appreciated.

    What exactly did you install?

The ME firmware update is not available from Intel directly - you have to get it from your PC/motherboard manufacturer (or through side channels).

I'm guessing you installed the ME software components, which are just some Windows services/utilities and don't address the security vulnerabilities.

I also installed the latest BIOS for my MB as well. Yes, it was the Intel ME software I thought I updated.

The BIOS is separate from the ME firmware. Assuming you're referring to the Asus board in your profile:

Yep...you have to contact your mobo vendor directly and ask them for the new BIOS update that has the microcode in it. I had to do it with my Gigabyte GA Z97X Gaming 7 mobo. I got a the generic support reply in less than 24 hrs and then a email 4 hours later with the new BIOS which for my mobo is the F9c BIOS.

Did you use Intel® Driver & Support Assistant?

The MEUpdateTool screenshot I posted earlier is what you need to run to update the ME firmware.

I DL the updated from ASUS for my MB. It still wants to make a new directory which is C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components, Shouldn't it update the current program instead of making a new install. Am I missing something.
