Creating macros

I know macros are rarely used anymore, but I want to use macro to record and replay email address that I',m sick of typing. So, using small program named TINY TASK, I create the macro but don't know how to assign it to a key on keyboard (generic, as I just spilled coffee in my Microsoft Ergonomic 4000). TINY TASK records the macro, but then how do I make it play back in a form? It defeats the purpose of time saving if If I have to open Tiny Task again to play back the macro. Need to assign to a function key or hot key.

There should be specific instructions to action the macro in the Tiny Task "Manual"

However if you can save the macro as a file for actioning, you could create a regular shortcut to the macro file and then assign a key sequence in the properties of the shortcut, (this is an old and often forgotten feature of windows shortcuts that's been around since Windows 3.1 at least)

To use the included feature in windows, create your macro and save it to be used later, (this should be listed in the macro software), next create a standard shortcut to work with the saved macro - Right click on desktop and new then shortcut, enter the code to run the macro in the Target box, and then click on the Shortcut Key box and press the CTRL and or Alt, and or Shift and a Letter key together to create an entry which will be assigned to start the macro when pressed- Repeat this for other macros as needed

I have since had a look at the Tiny Task options and they seem not to support what is needed to complete the task at hand, as it is designed as a UI helper rather than a script language.

You would be better off looking at a scripting option such as AutoIt https://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit/ that is designed to work exqctly as needed with shortcut key starts, It's also possible to have AutoIt, create a pop-up menu to allow you to select the email addresses from a list when using a single key press, (a lot more advanced than needed perhaps but there is a strong community that supports the free program and are willing to share part completed projects with others so may have something that could be quickly modified to do whatever is needed.

When using the keypress shortcuts in Windows It's actually best to create the shortcuts in a specific folder created for the task as they may not work correctly if moved after creation
