Realtek LAN Driver Realtek website or Microsoft Update Catalog?

    Hello,

Are the LAN Drivers from Realtek website and Microsoft Update Catalog same version?

Should I download the latest LAN Drivers from Realtek website manually or wait to get the update via Windows Updates after a Windows 10 clean install?

Realtek website has the LAN Drivers version 10.026 released 2018/5/11

    Thanks

Microsoft - latest tested driver. As long as it works, MS does not bother updating it.
Realtek - latest released driver. It might contain bug and security fixes, new features.

I like to keep drivers updated, particularly because of security, especially network driver.

I never looked at it that way....you've opened my eyes to that point. Now to update!

Question: With the Realtek driver, going with the latest updated version. Will it keep my "Realtek Audio Manager" or will I loose that? I remember updating once before and all I got was the driver and not the software.

For the record, MS has the latest version in its database, it just does not release it to public.

That depend, if you download just the driver or the full package.
    The size matters: 10MB - just a driver, 100MB+ - a full package.

    Thanks......
So I just downloaded the driver from Realtek....and it's just the driver (as usual)...No audio manager, it's gone now. Where is the full package on the realtek site?

Realtek does not list its latest audio drivers, MS does it for them.

Hope this will help. Without Realtek latest, we have Internet speed issues.

I don't rule out checking with the maker of the motherboard for drivers, they are allowed to modify things when building the board and making changes in the BIOS on the board as they see fit/desire.
