Windows 10 update possible conflict with HP Envy5540 printer

I think a recent Windows10 software update has affected my printing ability, since my HP Envy (HP5540) no longer prints. The HP help desk spent one hour trying to get the printer to print via my PC with no success. It prints OK from my iPhone & iPad but not the PC. It will also print OK via the control panel on the printer (eg a test page), but I cannot print emails from my PC. They concluded that it was a Windows problem - it was OK till about 10 days ago.
Has anybody else had this problem?

Hi Cheltman Welcome to the TenForums @Cheltman

Thanks for posting. I know this is a lot of work but have you considered a clean install? ( Yes you can shoot me !!)

Pretty sure this is a driver issue which should be reset with a clean install.

Came across this article as well. A lot of detail, which I have not tested myself.

    Thanks Ken for your help.
I eventually solved the issue with the help of the PC manufacturer with whom I had an extended warranty.
They found a later version of Windows. downloaded it and the problem was solved.
    Definitely a Windows issue.

By a later version you mean V1803?

I believe so, I am in Spain now - away from my PC, so can't check. They took over my computer remotely and spotted this right away - downloaded the later version and now everything is OK.
